Chuck Michaelson was born in Chicago, Illinois, but has lived in Gainesville, Florida for the last 27 years. He has been a professional pianist and music instructor for close to twenty years, and holds a Bachelors of Arts degree and a Masters degree in music. His primary instrument is acoustic piano, but he also plays organ, synthesizer, flute and acoustic guitar. Throughout his career, Chuck has performed in several different groups, including the classic rock bands The Dormant Spores and Sanity Clause, jazz bands like the Bluebird Jazz Sextet and Quartet South, the funk band Munkeez Strikin' Matchiz, the Stardust Quintet, and the top 40 group Ezee. As a soloist he has played classical music, blues, jazz, and original compositions. Currently he can be heard at various venues in Gainesville and at private events.
